Why wouldn’t the ones I did not choose Be those easier to lose I’m out of the square picture Out of your frame of mind Too straight for my taste Too tight for my kind No more waste of my time I say no more waste I am breaking the bond I am moving on And leaving you behind For a greener pasture A deeper azure Days unconfined A future undefined Most days don’t have an impact On the course of our lives, fine Today I will make a decision That might forever affect mine Now it’s your turn to keep quiet and listen Because you’ve worn me down You have used up my patience I used to be complacent But now off with your crown I am breaking the bond I am moving on And leaving you behind For a greener pasture A deeper azure Days unconfined A future undefined The tyranny of your feelings is over I declare myself free From that green-eyed monster Consumed with envy

Twinkle 03:25
Twinkle on, lodestar Guide me from where you are I have travelled long and far Always gliding below the radar Enjoying every bit of the journey With a very special mysterious lady Anonymous, free and happy Twinkle on, lodestar Guide me from where you are Twinkle on, lodestar Twinkle, oh twinkle Will we solve the mystery And merge into infinity When free elements floating in space Finally settle into place
3.
Someday 04:05
Someday Someday we’ll find a way To keep barbarity at bay Someday Dear mate How long till it’s too late To stop the spreading of hate Why wait Oh someday We can co-exist and finally lay Aside every dogma The wise say We’ll come to our senses And value our differences Man strays Further from civil ways Trading in liberty For safety chains Dear friend Don’t let this be the end Or give in to pressure Fear must be the worst adviser Won’t you take my hand Oh someday We can co-exist and finally lay Aside every dogma The wise say We’ll come to our senses And value our differences

She needs a meaning for every hour And an aim for every day Hey just in case she meets the reaper She can’t be burdened with regrets, no way Cause life’s a rollercoaster ride She’d rather take it in her stride Life’s such a rollercoaster ride She’d rather cope with it than hide She’s got a smile for every stranger And little consideration for money Woman on a mission, venturing further Wisdom beyond her years and youthful curiosity Cause life’s a rollercoaster ride She’d rather take it in her stride Life’s such a rollercoaster ride She’d rather cope with it than hide

From pity to envy And back there I sure paid for your fare Fake sympathy And your affected care Was that warm enough a coat for me to wear Some friends are here to stay Some are prompt to betray You failed me along the way Your fairweather faith feels like yesterday’s Cigarette butts in the ashtray Worm in the apple Sour memories Disposable souvenirs A Judas of a disciple Whom guilt would lead too soon Where the stray dogs howl at the moon Some friends are here to stay Some are prompt to betray You failed me along the way Your fairweather faith feels like yesterday’s Cigarette butts in the ashtray

Stars Align 03:14
Is it part of a scheme This beautiful shock Like a mysterious theme Sharp as a clock Emotional synchronisation Emotional synchronisation Those unknown forces in action Perform with such accurate precision When the stars align When the stars align Your path will cross mine When the stars align In this moment we are virgin Innocent and wild Immaculate skin I saved myself for this day I saved myself for this day I saved myself for your touch This heart is no easy prey Yet bound to fall in your clutch ’Cause when the stars align When the stars align Your path will cross mine When the stars align
7.
Guilt Trip 03:43
Just an ordinary day Outside they’re busy witch-hunting And you have been hiding away From the alienating process fear is conducting Whatever they hold to be wrong They need someone to blame it on And feed to the masses They’ll be back to twist the knife As sure as that social life Is overrated As a free-spirited man You’re the scapegoat all-designated Perfectly conscience-clear No it isn’t guilt by which you are tormented Whatever they hold to be wrong They need someone to blame it on And feed to the masses They’ll be back to twist the knife As sure as that social life Is way overrated Better in pain with the truth Than delighted to live a lie With a foolish collective Ready to take another lonely swim Further against the tide
8.
Clean Slate 02:57
Moving houses From a broken home into the unknown The picture’s faded But I still feel the aching now Kid brother How could I ever forget the way you held me tight Our freckled faces Under snowflaked suburban skies From the attic Further memories to wrestle or fight All those boxes They will not let sleeping dogs lie Indelible traces Cannot be wiped out like dust from the past Dump the damn things Earn a clean slate, a brand new start Let’s get on with our lives A little less innocent but hardly wise
9.
No need to burn your icons They will self-ignite On starless nights When heroes go down in flames No need to bleed your idols As a sacrifice Once past the prize Seems no achievement remains unpunished Someone’s aura disintegrates In the public eye He’ll pay the price For all the glory and fame Enough rise-and-fall tales Until the next lame story about one’s fall and rise Her collapsing image Like self-sabotage Gone under the knife Of some collective guilt trip His defensive stance Won’t make up for the lies Til his demise As one more ill-fated king Enough rise-and-fall tales Until the next lame story about one’s fall and rise

The Gift 05:42
As you wear your heart upon its sleeve And you won’t dismiss me as too naïve It’s the gift of hope on a golden plate It’s the gift of trust in a jewel case It means the world I put my faith in you Rely upon you Under the sun We’ll never be alone Holding on to you Counting on you Under the sun We’ll never walk alone When that kind of love dares speak its name There’s a sweeter life with a warm embrace If we cannot make this world humane At least we can sustain the illusion with grace Young bud I put my faith in you Rely upon you Under the sun We’ll never be alone Holding on to you Counting on you Under the sun We’ll never walk alone Thanks for cracking the code Thanks for sharing the meaning Young bud I put my faith in you Rely upon you Under the sun We’ll never be alone Holding on to you Counting on you Under the sun We’ll never walk alone

Keeper 03:24
A magic world awaits Mysteries are opening the secret gates The night looks so beautiful Silent and peaceful It might seem too short For you I double checked the bedroom The house, the whole neighborhood No threat to report There is no ghost in the corner No spider on the wall There’s no wolf in the closet No monster walking down the hall Your eyelids feel heavy Give in to sleep my little baby One last kiss before dreamland Close your eyes and slowly let go of my hand I’ll be your watchman, your keeper Hear the quiet call Of a gentle and friendly darkness Nothing to fear at all

about

"French troubadour Arno Sojo makes an impression on album two… With its knowingly retro drum machines and inventive guitar-centric instrumentation, this atmospheric follow-up feels like a change of gear. The lush strings may be gone, but the song is still all on "Sustain The Illusion". There’s a hint of Mansun to brooding opener "Breaking The Bond" and building ballad "The Gift", and in parts Sojo’s earnest vocals draw on David Sylvian (the languid "Someday", "Stars Align"). Comparisons come and go (Depeche Mode, Placebo...) and while there’s nothing truly prog here, Sojo does have the knack of imbuing conventional songs with imaginative twists : the compelling melodic ideas of the motorik "Twinkle", "Clean Slate" ’s enigmatic earworm refrain, the guitar textures of "Guilt Trip" and that bass groove on "Burn Your Icons"... The troubadour’s open-hearted performance and craftsmanship make this a work of real substance." Grant Moon - PROG MAGAZINE (April 2017)
